This painting is based on a photograph of myself as a child - I was dressed up in fancy clothes and was in character!
I hope the viewer feels a sense of nostalgia - I find the work evokes a vintage feel (not that I am that old!). The inclusion of a carousel horse's rear was in place of a family member who was standing next to me (you could only see their shoulder and the random shoulder was not working!). I hope viewers enjoy the playfulness of this. My paintings always grow organically and I never plan them, so this is how this one evolved.
The painting can be hung directly on a nail or framed in a tray/floater frame.
